Lord Slynn of Hadley

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Lord Slynn of Hadley, who had been Chairman of the Executive Council since 1988. He died aged 79, on 7 April in London.
He was appointed Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the British Empire (GBE) in the 2009 New Year's Honours List for his services toEuropean and International Law, this had given him great pleasure.
