Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program: Two Months to Application Deadline

With just over two months to go until the August 1, 2017 deadline, now is the time to focus on your Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program application! Fulbright Scholars are selected for their academic merit and leadership potential to teach, research, and exchange ideas. There are nearly 500 awards available in more than 125 countries; complete details are located in the Catalog of Awards.

Highlighted below is a selection of awards in the field of law which might be of interest to you and International Law Association members:

Burkina Faso: Business Administration, Law or Medical Sciences

Japan: Study of the United States (Teaching in Social Sciences and Humanities)

Jordan: All Disciplines

Sweden: Fulbright-Lund University Chair in Public International Law

Kazakhstan: All Disciplines

Canada: Research Chairs in Policy, Law, and Governance

You are invited to join any of our upcoming webinars. We run a series of Application Walk-Through and Virtual Advising webinars where Fulbright staff go through the online application, discussing the various components and required materials. These sessions are designed to answer your questions about the award offerings and application process. Register now as limited spots are available: May 31, 2017 - 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm EDT or June 28, 2017 - 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm EDT. Our Global Hidden Gems webinar on June 21 2:00-3:00pm EDT will discuss awards which you may not have considered before.

Once you have identified an award to apply for, the application guidelines should illuminate the next steps in the process. The review committees consider the impact of the proposed project, academic merit and leadership potential of the applicant, and feasibility given the scholar’s background.

Click here to begin an application, if you have not already done so. You are also invited to join My Fulbright to receive exclusive updates, program information and application tips.

We look forward to hearing from you and working with you throughout the application process.
