The International Law Association of Canada is pleased to present a wide-ranging armchair discussion about international law practice with Meg Kinnear of LKDR LLC, former Secretary-General of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), moderated by Oonagh E. Fitzgerald, President of ILA Canada, with Svetoslav Ivanov, PhD candidate, McGill University Law School, as discussant.
Meg Kinnear is the founder of LKDR LLC (Low & Kinnear Dispute Resolution), a firm of dispute neutrals founded in July 2024, and operating from Toronto, Ontario and Washington DC. From June 2009-June 2024 she was the Secretary-General of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) in Washington, DC and a Vice-President of the World Bank. Prior to this, Meg was the head of the Trade Law Bureau of Canada (1999-2009), an Executive Assistant to the Deputy Minister of Justice (1996-1999), and counsel in the civil litigation section of Justice Canada (1984-1999). Meg's career has focused on various international issues, in particular international trade and international investment law.

Meg Kinnear est la fondatrice de LKDR LLC (Low & Kinnear Dispute Resolution), une société de neutralisement des différends, fondée en juillet 2024, qui opère à partir de Toronto, en Ontario et de Washington DC. De juin 2009 à juin 2024, elle a été Secrétaire générale du Centre international pour le règlement des différends relatifs aux investissements (CIRDI) à Washington, DC et vice-présidente de la Banque mondiale. Auparavant, Meg a été chef du Bureau du droit commercial du Canada (1999-2009), adjointe exécutive du sous-ministre de la Justice (1996-1999) et avocate à la section du litige civil de Justice Canada (1984-1999). La carrière de Meg s'est concentrée sur diverses questions internationales, en particulier le commerce international et le droit international de l'investissement.
