The ILA Executive Council Meeting was held in London on 17 November 2018

At the Executive Council meeting on 17 November:

• After 21 years as Secretary General and 4 more as Vice-Chair, David Wyld has stepped down.
• Professor Damilola S Olawuyi (Nigerian Branch) was elected Vice Chair 
• A new Branch in Mauritius was established
• Two New Committees approved:
             - Use of Force: Military Assistance on Request
             - Submarine Cables and Pipelines under International Law
• One new Study Group:
              - Asian State Practice of Domestic Implementation of International Law
