The ILA Ukrainian Branch held their Conference on 8 November 2017: “Contemporary Problems of International Law”
On November 8, 2017, the ILA Ukrainian Branch jointly with the Academy of Advocacy of Ukraine held a conference “Contemporary Problems of International Law”.
On November 8, 2017, the ILA Ukrainian Branch jointly with the Academy of Advocacy of Ukraine held a conference “Contemporary Problems of International Law”. Law students and post-graduates representing the Academy of Advocacy, Kyiv National University, National Academy of Internal Affairs, Institute of International Relations of the National Aviation University, as well as other national institutions of higher education of Ukraine participated in the conference.
Opening remarks were made by Ambassador Oleksandr Kupchyshyn, President of the ILA Ukrainian Branch, and Professor Sergiy Goncharenko, Head of the International and European Law Department of the Academy of Advocacy of Ukraine.
Alongside with general aspects of contemporary international law, most interventions presented by future young lawyers concentrated on legal problems confronted at present by Ukraine. In particular, considerable attention was paid to the issues of implementation of the EU- Ukraine Association Agreement, modalities of the future possible UN peacekeeping mission in Eastern Ukraine, Ukraine’s claim to the International Court of Justice against Russian Federation, UN draft resolution sponsored by Ukraine on violation of human rights in occupied Crimea, definition of hybrid aggression and some others.
